Metesky aka The Mad Bomber leaves his first bomb, a short length of brass pipe filled with gunpowder with an ignition mechanism made of sugar and flashlight batteries, on the window sill in Consolidated Edison Plant, West 64th Street, New York, New York, United States. Metesky's device was found before it could go off. It was wrapped in a note written in distinctive block letters and signed 'F.P.', stating "CON EDISON CROOKS – THIS IS FOR YOU." F.P. stood for 'Fair Play'.

Upon searching Gein's property, investigators discovered Worden's decapitated body in a shed, hung upside down by ropes at her wrists with a crossbar at her ankles. The torso was dressed out like a deer.

Ten days before Gable suffered a severe heart attack. There was speculation that Gable's physically demanding role in'The Misfits' contributed to his sudden death soon after filming was completed.
