(x) 80 years ago He Was Boxed in Wednesday 19th of September 1934 35-year-old Kidnapper Bruno Richard Hauptmann is arrested and charged with the kidnapping of Charles Augustus Lindbergh Jr in Needham Avenue and East 222nd Street, Bronx, New York, New York, United States. Hauptmann attempted to get away by ignoring red lights and traveling at high speed. As the chase continued Hauptmann was accidentally boxed in by a municipal sprinkler truck between 178th Street and East Tremont Avenue.

(x) 25 years ago Tuesday 19th of September 1989 170 die in Union des Transports Aériens McDonnel Douglas DC-10-30 Flight 772 explosion in Ténéré, Agadez, Niger. A bomb placed by a rebel Jihad group in a container in location 13-R in the forward cargo hold caused the destruction of the aircraft. In 2007 a memorial was created in the desert by Les Familles de l'Attentat du DC-10 d'UTA, an association of the victims' families. The memorial is constructed of black rock in the shape and dimensions of the DC10 airplane inside a compass, with one of the plane's wings used as a compass point, and over 170 broken mirrors to reflect the victims of the crash.
